Aspecte istorice şi tehnice privind perioada de început a introducerii betonului precomprimat în România/Historical and technical aspects regarding the beginning period of the introduction of prestressed concrete in Romania

postat în: Volumul XVIII 0

Prestressed concrete was introduced in Romania as a new construction material after the end of World War II. The year 2024 marks 75 years since the execution of the first series of experimental prestressed beams (1949) and the year 2026 will mark the same number of years since the execution of the first prestressed concrete structure in Romania (1951): a pedestrian bridge (footbridge), located over the Ghimbăşel River, in the city of Râşnov. It was built to provide access to one of the city’s important economic units. The structure of the footbridge has a span of 19.00 m and uses post-tensioned reinforcement with metal plate anchors, in the Blaton–Magnel system. The technical events from the beginning period of the introduction of prestressed concrete in Romania represent an insufficiently known historical stage, requiring an adequate presentation of it.
