It is more than a century and a half since Constantin Banu was born, more than a century since the literary, artistic and social journal “Flacăra” was published. Much has been written about its director, Constantin Banu, who was always present in the press of the time, and yet so little is known about him. His descendants decided to find out who he was. A professor beloved by his students, an active parliamentarian, a brilliant orator, a talented writer, an idealist? These are questions they are trying to answer, not without difficulty, when so many archives are still unknown, when decades of communism have passed, when a politician in the first half of the 20th century was considered a pariah.
